Problem
Hundreds of millions of dollars were at stake in this software patent infringement case.

The problem centered around how to effectively explain to the jury two extremely complex sets of concealed mechanisms, one of which plaintiff claimed was identical to his client's system.

  Solution
Working with the defense trial team, the client and expert witnesses, we strategized, designed and produced more than 20 demonstratives, including various technical animations explaining the two processes.

We also suggested that the process be presented to the jury utilizing a metaphor that placed the system in a real world context.

Using the then topical metaphor of the SARS virus, which was in the headlines daily, this animation clearly visualized how the two systems differed. The final outcome was a settlement, advantageous to our client.
